Late minutes, weather, and the dock that closes at three

Forklift moving pallets on a wet yard

Receiving at Clifton Forge still closes the gate at 15:00 on Fridays. A carrier who books 14:50 and hits traffic is late to the book even if the SLA’s calendar day is intact. We write both facts.

Weather notes belong in the exception log, not as a blanket excuse. Ice on the Allegheny grade and a Black Sea storm delay are different proofs. One is a local road note; the other should appear in the Georgian transit file.

The briefing pack uses a plain code: V for vendor origin delay, C for carrier after handover, D for dock closed or labour short, G for government or customs hold. We argue about the code in the room so the QBR does not invent a new one.

Penalties, if the contract has them, are not calculated by us. We only count minutes in the clause’s clock and label the exception. The buying desk decides what to table.
